Florida is experiencing growth in many metro areas despite bad real estate news in some areas. A broker in Sarasota FL shared data that shows townhome prices up there in 2007 over 2006. US census data shows population growth in many metro areas of Florida. Here are some of the larger growth numbers:

Palm Coast, FL    31%  from 2007-2012

Naples, FL          13.3%  from 2007-2012

One of the surprises of the United Van Lines 2007 migration study was that Florida, with 50.1% incoming, returned to being an inbound state after increased departures in 2006.
